Shake off stress and reconnect with joy!

Stress is something we all experience, but how we manage it can make a significant difference to our wellbeing. It's crucial to find ways to release stress from the body rather than letting it build up. Movement is Medicine (MIM) offers a fun, transformative way to let go of stress by combining mindfulness, body movement, and the music you love!

Introducing Audua
Bright Emotions has joined forces with Audua Ogilivie, a certified MIM instructor – or as she likes to call herself, a Joy & Freedom Bringer! Audua delivers this powerful, neuroscience-backed method designed to bridge the gap between movement, music, and stress relief.

What is MIM?

Ultimately, MIM is a transformative and non-medical prescription for reducing and managing stress. It involves the body returning to a state of equilibrium, or homeostasis, after experiencing a stressor, which, for many people, doesn't happen. By promoting relaxation through the MIM method, you can help protect your body from the negative effects of long-term stress. Activating the relaxation response can help stabilise your mood and improve your overall quality of life and emotional, mental and physical wellbeing.

There’s a whole host of benefits to it which you can read more about here www.mimhq.co.uk/the-science

So how does it work?
Through music, movement, and education, MIM helps you uncover your innate rhythm, connects you to the present moment, and releases physical stress and emotional tension. The MIM method uses simple tools such as music, body awareness, somatic tracking and free-flow movement to bring balance between activation of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.

Using science-backed education MIM immerses you in a variety of electronic music genres, emphasising percussion, BPM (beats per minute) and innovative song structures. From House and Garage to Afrobeats and Drum & Bass, our focus is on the drum, and participants will experience a diverse musical journey.

MIM does not use any choreographed dance movements, instead, we start with simple movements such as tapping, squeezing and rubbing (a somatic meditation) followed by free flow, non-judgmental movement. The MIM method can be adapted for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
