Testimonials

We first met Sophie in 2022 when my son (K) attended the 4 week emotions course. Sophie was very welcoming and approachable. K loved the weekly sessions and gained so much more confidence during this time.

Since these sessions K has attended fitness and feelings - which he loved and always asks when these will run again. For me it was great for K to do something he enjoys whilst also linking to his emotions and how his body feels.

Both K and my daughter (A) have attended many craft and calm sessions. They really enjoy these sessions. Both my children love Sophie and warmed to her instantly.

I couldn’t recommend Bright Emotions enough, the work Sophie does is amazing and the knowledge she shares is brilliant. We can’t wait to see what Bright Emotions has in store for 2025!” - Parent

“From the outset, Sophie was able to advise and plan a programme of work to meet the complex needs of our Looked After Children. The impact of her work with the children was seen after just a few sessions. We are seeing the impact of the sessions - shorter melt downs, quicker recovery times, better understanding of feelings and increased willingness to ask for help, sharing overwhelming emotions. She quickly established a working relationship with the children and has built trust, enabling them to tackle some of the issues. This programme of work is excellent value for money. I highly recommend Sophie Whelan, Bright Emotions, as an additional resource for supporting vulnerable children”. - Carlton C of E Primary School

“My daughter is AuDHD and was suffering what can only be described as burnout. I kept her home from school and insisted she would not be returning until they had therapeutic support in place. I did my own research and came across Bright Emotions. I contacted Sophie to discuss my concerns and was met with kindness and empathy. Sophie was also quite clearly neurodiverse affirming and I knew this was the service I wanted to support my daughter. Sophie took time completing the initial assessments with me and explained the suitable options. Sand therapy was the option we went for.

Sophie was quick to begin support with no lengthy waiting lists and was flexible in her approach, agreeing therapy would start ASAP in school, with me agreeing to bring my daughter to her finals sessions at The Hub. My daughter built a positive relationship with Sophie almost immediately who soon came to be known as "Sophie Sand."

My daughter was offered a safe space to be herself and to begin to understand her big bright emotions! We have since been to some of the one-off craft and calm sessions and are hoping to access more therapeutic support when her EHCP is reviewed. I would recommend Sophie to anyone without hesitation.” - Parent
